What a Elemental Shaman brings to a raid

• flask
  Flask of Blinding Light or Flask of Supreme Power

  Lasts two hours and survives death. The one buff you never have to re-apply.
• potion
  Destruction Potion and/or Super Mana Potion

  For mid-fight. Every potion shares one cooldown, so you get few of them.
• food
  Blackened Basilisk or Crunchy Serpent or Poached Bluefish

  Well-fed. Half an hour, and it goes when you do — eat after a wipe.
• oil
  Brilliant Wizard Oil or Superior Wizard Oil

  Goes on your weapon before the pull and lasts an hour.
• rune
  Demonic Rune and Dark Rune

  Mana back at the cost of health, without spending your potion.
• drums
  Drums of Battle (if Leatherworking)

  Leatherworking only, and it buffs the group around you.
• engineer
  Super Sapper Charge (if Engineer)

  Engineering only. Extra damage nobody else brings.
• water
  Purified Draenic Water

  Your own, for when nobody is making any.

Each line says what the thing IS before it names the item, because the question a Elemental Shaman arrives with is "why am I carrying this" rather than "what is it called".

Where a line offers several items joined by or, any one of them satisfies it; then means the second is the fallback when the first is out of reach. A flask lasts two hours and survives death, so it is the one buff a damage dealer never re-applies mid-night; battle and guardian elixirs are cheaper and go when you do. Every potion in the game shares one cooldown, which is why the list names few of them.
