Terms of use

This site is free, needs no account, and is run by one person for a raiding guild that found nothing quite doing what it wanted. These terms say what it promises, what it does not, and the little that is asked of you in return.

What this site is

Three tools for Burning Crusade Classic: a raid gear checker that audits a public Warcraft Logs report, a lookup for one raider, and the best-in-slot lists everything is graded against. Using any of them means these terms apply to you.

Every number here is an estimate

This is the most important thing on the page. The upgrade values come from combat simulation, which is a model of the game rather than the game itself, and it is run with assumptions — a fully buffed 25-man, a standard rotation, a fixed fight length — that will not match your raid exactly. Simulated numbers carry a margin of error, and where two options fall inside it the site says too close to call rather than picking a winner.

Other numbers are not simulations at all, and the site labels which is which: some are stat-score estimates from fitted weights, and some are another site's published score. Treat all of them as informed guidance for a decision you make yourself. Nothing here is a guarantee about how your character will perform, and no gearing decision you make on the strength of it is this site's responsibility.

If a number looks wrong, it may well be. Write in — that is how several of them have been fixed.

The site is provided as it is

There is no warranty of any kind, no guarantee that it will be available, and no promise that it will keep working the way it does today. It depends on services outside its control — chiefly Warcraft Logs — and if any of those stops answering, parts of this site stop working with it. Features may change or be removed. It may go away entirely.

It is free, and there is no subscription and nothing paywalled. That is deliberate, but it is not a promise about the future.

What is asked of you

Other people's data, and other people's rules

A raid log names other players, and their gear and performance come from a report that was already public on Warcraft Logs before this site saw it. Displaying it here does not make it this site's to license. Warcraft Logs' own terms govern their data, wherever you see it — including here.

The simulator and item database are wowsims', open source under the MIT licence. The best-in-slot lists and item scores are wowtbc.gg's. The audits, the checks, and every choice about how a number is read and labelled are this site's own.

Not affiliated with anyone

World of Warcraft and Burning Crusade Classic are trademarks of Blizzard Entertainment. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment, Warcraft Logs, wowsims or wowtbc.gg. It is a fan project.

Your data

There is no account and no user database. The privacy page says exactly what is recorded, how long it is kept, and which other companies see anything — it is short, and it is worth reading.

If these change

They may. The date below says when they last did, and continuing to use the site after that is how you accept the current version. Nothing here is retroactive.
