It is transcribed from Wowhead's own Shadow Priest DPS guide, and it is a recommendation: 9 lines, 14 items, covering flask, food, oil, potion, rune, scroll, extra, water. Each line says what the thing IS before it names the item, because the question a Shadow Priest arrives with is "why am I carrying this" rather than "what is it called".
Where a line offers several items joined by or, any one of them satisfies it; then means the second is the fallback when the first is out of reach. A flask lasts two hours and survives death, so it is the one buff a damage dealer never re-applies mid-night; battle and guardian elixirs are cheaper and go when you do. Every potion in the game shares one cooldown, which is why the list names few of them.
